Course Description

This is a mini course all about prepositions. It provides students with an overview of how and when we use prepositions of placement, movement and time. It also covers advanced uses of the present continuous tense.

Course Format

The course is segmented into four lessons, at different difficulty levels to cater to students according to their proficiency in the English language:

  • Introduction (A1 and A2 Levels): Why we use prepositions and what information they add to our sentences.
  • Prepositions of Placement (A1 and A2 levels): What prepositions of placement tell us about the position of things.
  • Prepositions of Movement (A2 and B1 levels): What prepositions of movement tell us about the starting point, direction and ending point of moving things.
  • Prepositions of Time (A2 and B1 levels): What are the common prepositions of time and how do we use them?
What will you learn?

Students will learn how prepositions are used in English and the different types. They will learn to identify common prepositions, recognise when it is appropriate to use each type and practise forming complete sentences with prepositions.
